Brownsville (Tenn.) four-star cornerback Caden Harris could not pass on Georgia. Harris, the No. 76 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Rankings, has flipped his commitment from Vanderbilt to Georgia.

Harris committed to Vanderbilt back on April 29. Georgia was right in there for Harris in his first decision. The Bulldogs came in a close second. Donte Williams kept working and got an official visit from the four-star cornerback.

Harris took an official visit to Georgia over the weekend. The Bulldogs closed the gap and gave Harris some things to think about. The Bulldogs also made Harris feel like a priority.

“Georgia made it kind of hard, and I’ve got to go back to the drawing board,” Harris told DawgsHQ on June 10. “I have to rethink some things. I needed to compare and to make sure that I’m making the best decision for me…It came down to Georgia and Vanderbilt the first time. Me going down there to see a little bit more, kind of put me in a position to make sure and think about some things.”

Development was key for Caden Harris’s process

Georgia’s development is also something that has always intrigued Harris. Harris’ father, Nicholas Harris, echoed an affinity for Georgia’s development to DawgsHQ.

“What stood out to me most about the UGA football program is its commitment to development, both on and off the field,” Mr. Harris told DawgsHQ. “They focus on preparing their athletes not just for a potential professional career, but for life beyond football. Throughout their time in the program, athletes work closely with a dedicated team that includes nutritionists, academic advisors, mental health counselors, and strength coaches, all of whom offer individualized support. They also gain real-world experience through internships with a wide range of companies, demonstrating a true investment in their futures.”

As a parent, one of the things I value most is family. And at UGA, the program feels like just that. My son would be surrounded by people who care, support, and push him to be his best in every aspect of life.

Georgia has already locked up a commitment from fellow four-star cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick in the class of 2026. Harris is also the second top 100 cornerback prospect in the class.
