Tustin (Calif.) Mission Viejo four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford has shifted his recruitment and flipped his commitment from Georgia to Miami.

The No. 85 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings committed to Georgia back on Nov. 5, 2024. The Bulldogs have been fighting off Miami and others since he announced his pledge.

Spafford took an official visit to Georgia back on June 13. The Bulldogs weren’t able to do enough to hold onto the four-star wideout.

Spafford bucked the talk of flip rumors earlier in the year.

“People are going to talk,” Spafford told DawgsHQ back on March 10. “That’s how it goes. Everyone can have their assumptions about what’s going on, which is fine. USC is in the backyard. It is what it is. Just let them talk, it’s okay.”

Spafford was looking forward to playing alongside five-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis but won’t get that chance now.

“Jared Curtis is a beast, he’s amazing,” Spafford said in March. “He’s incredible. I committed there partly because he was committed there as well. He has been working on making his decision and I respect that. I think he should do what he should do. I think he’s amazing and I would love for him to come to Georgia and throw me that ball. That would be great.”

Things shifted, and Georgia drops a commit in the 2026 cycle. Four-stars Ryan Mosley and Brady Marchese are committed at the moment. Four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge will announce his college decision on Thursday. Georgia is a major player in his recruitment.
