5-star DL James Johnson flips from Georgia to Texas

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern five-star defensive line James Johnson has flipped his commitment from Georgia to Texas. The No. 10 overall prospect in the Rivals rankings committed to Georgia on June 28.
The Longhorns were the program many felt finished second in his process the first time around. Johnson continued to listen to other suitors. Johnson admitted the Longhorns gave him something to think about.

“I’d say Texas came kind of close,” Johnson told reporters at his commitment ceremony. “I decided to think about Texas. Ultimately, I stayed locked in with Georgia.”
The Longhorns made their push and have landed the five-star who made a serious jump in the latest Rivals300.
The Longhorns landed five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson on Tuesday as well.
