Georgia is on its last lap of the summer race. The Bulldogs have had three straight weekends of official visits and the groups have been really impressive. Thus far they have hosted the vast majority of their top targets.

Those targets are setting their decision dates. South Garner (Garner, N.C.) offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko is on the cusp of a decision. He’ll decide on Wednesday, June 17. He’s a major target for the Bulldogs, as is Kamehameha Secondary (Honolulu, Hawaii) offensive tackle Malakai Lee. Georgia had him on campus this past weekend for an unofficial visit and he brought several family members.

Georgia is also trying to make moves for IMG Academy offensive lineman Breck Kolojay, Chaminade-Madonna (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) running back Derrek Cooper, and an number of other major targets.

So where does UGA stand with those prospects? What is on the horizon for the Bulldogs on the recruiting trail? What about the state of Georgia football in the middle of summer workouts? DawgsHQ provided a little scoop on demand with an Ask Rusty chat.

We carved out an hour where members asked questions and I did my best to answer all of them. Click on the link below to see a complete recap of that chat and get up-to-date on Georgia football and Bulldog recruiting. We’ve also provided a couple of sample questions.

*** Ask Rusty: June 17, 2025***

Southatlantadawg: Are we taking 2 RBs even if we can’t get 2 if hiter/cooper/lamar?

Mansell: They want 2 yes. I still think before it is over with, they go with 2. Doesnt have to be now, but when this class is over, they have room for 2.

Jtdawg20: Prediction of who will get the starting safety job opposite of KJ (Bolden)?

Mansell: (JaCorey) Thomas early on, but that job is not done.
