Commitment Day Primer: 4-star DL Valdin Sone set to decide

Another major prospect, Dyke (Va.) Blue Ridge School four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone is reporting to the commitment table today.
Sone will announce his college commitment later this morning. The No. 130 overall prospect in the 2026 Rivals Industry Rankings will choose between Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Nebraska.
Sone has seen his recruitment take off this summer. He made trips around the country for camps and his stock soared everywhere he went. Georgia was one of those places. He returned for his official visit on June 20.
Sone also took official visits to Florida (June 17), Nebraska (June 13) and Auburn (May 30).
The Bulldogs have surged as of late. Georgia has a 95.6 percent chance of landing the four-star defensive lineman going into his commitment on Friday, according to RPM.

The Big Picture
Georgia just lost five-star James Johnson’s pledge to Texas earlier this week. The Bulldogs have been working to revamp the defensive line room in the 2026 class. Georgia has seen a lot of older faces move on in the last two seasons.
The Bulldogs have five defensive linemen committed at the moment. None of these players have the skillset of Sone, who could turn into a true ‘zero’ technique in Georgia’s defense long term should he land with the Bulldogs at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds.
