Another day, another decision was to be made; this time, it is Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star running back Jae Lamar.

The No. 122 overall prospect On3 Industry Rankings will announce his college commitment today. Lamar has taken official visits to Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and Miami.

Georgia got the last visit with the Colquitt County star. Lamar took an official visit to Georgia last weekend. He was treated like a priority by the entire offensive staff. Georgia running back coach Josh Crawford has been on Lamar heavily since the Bulldogs offered.

Robinson was once an assistant coach at Colquitt County High School and has known of Lamar for a few years.

The Bulldogs are trending as of late. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia an 87.3 percent chance of landing the four-star running back.

What has he said about Georgia?

Lamar has been candid about his love of Georgia as a program. He grew up idolizing the great running backs of yesteryear.

“I grew up a big Georgia Bulldog fan,” Lamar told DawgsHQ back on Jan. 16. “I always wanted to play and be there as a running back growing up. My rec and pop Warner ball team was the Georgia Dogs. We looked just like the Georgia Bulldogs. I told my mom one day, that I would be in a Georgia Bulldog uniform. That stood out to me growing up. My whole family is Georgia Bulldog fans.”

Lamar has also spoken highly of his relationship with Crawford.

“We have a great relationship, we’ve been communicating with each other for months,” Lamar said. “The relationship is great… I’ve been one of the main priorities in the 2026 class along with Savion Hiter and a few other backs and coach Crawford has been hitting me up.”

Lamar is already looking toward the opportunity to play alongside another elite running back.

“Going into college, I’m going to have to compete for a spot either way,” Lamar said. “I’ve just got that dog in me, I feel like I can play while others are playing too. I can get a certain amount of reps, and I work hard in the weight room, and I’m a working person. I feel like I could contribute to Georgia’s offense.”

The Big Picture

Georgia’s current running back room is six or seven players deep. Nate Frazier is the leading returning rusher. There are other running backs with experience, but they still need to define what they are going to be in Athens.

Cash Jones has played a lot of football for Georgia. He’s the senior in the room.

Roderick Robinson played a key role as a freshman but spent a lot of time injured in 2024. The duo of Dwight Phillips and Chauncey Bowens was called on in spots as true freshmen.

Freshman Bo Walker had a lot of buzz for his work in the spring and could find some reps this fall as well. Georgia also went into the transfer portal to bring in Josh McCray from Illinois into the fold as well.

There is a need for a long-term, lead-back type, and Lamar has the opportunity to become that.
