Loganville (Ga.) Grayson five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson will report to the commitment table today. The No. 9 overall prospect in the 2026 Rivals Industry Rankings will announce his decision today between Clemson, Georgia, Oregon and Texas.

Atkinson took official visits to all four schools this summer. Clemson got the first look on May 30. Oregon was the second stop back on June 6.

Georgia hosted Atkinson on June 13. Texas closed out Atkinson’s visits on June 20. The Longhorns have been the popular pick going into Atkinson’s decision. Georgia has been considered a team to beat for much of this recruitment. Atkinson has been on Georgia’s campus nearly 15 times.

RPM favors the Longhorns, giving Texas an 88.9 percent chance of landing the five-star linebacker.

What has he said about Georgia?

The Big Picture

Atkinson has been a major target for a long time. He has a deep connection with Georgia’s staff, namely Glenn Schumann. The Bulldogs have prioritized Atkinson.

Georgia’s linebacker room has been stocked for some time. Players like CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson have an opportunity to play themselves into the NFL this fall.

Justin Williams and Chris Cole are former five-stars waiting in the wings. Zayden Walker and Anthony Kruah are even behind them, waiting for their roles to emerge.

Atkinson would immediately come in and compete with this group of talented players. Georgia also has four-star Shadarius Toodle committed in the 2026 class. Four-star Nick Abrams is heavily considering Georgia as well and will make his decision tomorrow.
