Dillon Bell update: Georgia wideout headed to locker room with low-leg injury

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia could be without junior wideout Dillon Bell for the rest of its clash with Tennessee. After a second-quarter carry deep inside the Georgia red zone, Bell came up limping with a low-leg injury. The Bulldogs went on to score and take a 14-10 lead. The Texas native has since rejoined the team on the sideline but he is listed as “out for now” according to the ESPN telecast.
According to DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson, Bell is headed to the locker room and putting some, but not a lot, of pressure on that ankle. Bell three touches on the day and seven targets in the passing game. His run was wiped out by an offsides penalty by Tennessee and he has 14 total yards.
The Bulldogs fell behind 10-0 to Tennessee on Saturday but they have since roared back. Georgia has touchdown drives of 75 and 85 yards on each of its last two possessions. Bell has lined up at both running back and wide receiver for the Bulldogs.

Updated near the end of the 2nd quarter…
Bell has returned to the field from the locker room but he is not yet putting much weight on his ankle. He is wearing his helmet according to Johnson. UGA has officially listed him “out for now” while they evaluate his high-ankle and shin according to ESPN. Georgia is now trailing Tennessee 17-14 after a 27-yard touchdown run from Dylan Sampson. It’s his 21st touchdown of the season.
Halftime update: Georgia and Tennessee are tied at 17
Bell did not play at all to end the first half. Georgia had one possession before the half where it ran it’s two-minute offense. The Bulldogs took it into Tennessee territory and got a 36-yard field goal from Peyton Woodring to tie the game up at 17.
