The Georgia Bulldogs have started off the summer with a bang, landing their first commitment of June in the form of five-star linebacker Zayden Walker of Schley County High.

A native of Ellaville, Georgia, Walker becomes Georgia’s tenth commitment of the Class of 2025 and the second five-star pledge, joining tight end Elyiss Williams.

Walker ranks as the nation’s No. 24 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 per the On3 Industry Ranking. Additionally, he is the No. 1 overall linebacker for the cycle and No. 5 prospect in Georgia for the class per the same metric.

Georgia overcame the likes of Miami and South Carolina for his services, and offered his commitment off of his official visit to Athens this past weekend. While he’d earlier scheduled official visits to see the Gamecocks and Hurricanes, he tells On3’s Chad Simmons he is now done with recruiting.

“It was another great visit to Georgia,” Walker told Simmons following his visit to Athens this past weekend. “I felt the love from the coaches, I had a great time with Coach Schu (Glenn Schumann) and it just feels like home there. Georgia has always recruited me hard, they showed me I am very important to them this weekend and me and my family had a great time.”

Schumann was a key throughout the recruitment.

“Me and coach Schu can talk about anything. He has been recruiting me for a long time and he is a coach I really trust,” Walker said. He knows a lot about linebackers and I know he can coach me up and develop me. We had a good time this weekend. We talked about his plan for me if I went there and it was great to get some coaching from him at camp too.”’

Zayden Walker is Georgia’s second linebacker commitment of the Class of 2025, joining four-star prospect Jadon Perlotte.

On3 Scouting Report on Zayden Walker

“Flashes a high-end combination of on-field athleticism and functional play strength. Lines up in both two and three-point stances off the edge. Shows noticeable first-step quickness off the snap. Very strong at the point of attack. Plays with excellent leverage and uses his strong lower body to move offensive linemen both as a bull rusher and run defender. Makes some eye-popping plays in pursuit, showcasing high-end athleticism in tracking down ball carriers from the back side. Doubles as a dangerous running back, using his athleticism and strength to pick up yards after contact. Helped his team to a state title appearance as a sophomore.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings, on Zayden Walker
