Five-star QB Jared Curtis commits to Georgia for a second time

Nashville (Tenn.) five-star quarterback Jared Curtis always had Georgia on his mind. The No. 3 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Rankings has committed to Georgia for a second time.
Curtis committed to the Bulldogs back in March of 2024. He re-opened his recruitment to take his visits in October. Curtis took his visits, played the recruiting game and saw what he needed to see.
Georgia still won over the five-star signal caller. The Bulldogs battled Oregon down the stretch and got visits in the spring that ultimately decided where the five-star signal caller would land.
Georgia never relented after Curtis’ decommitment. The relationship even grew stronger in the months that came after his retracted pledge. Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has been the key piece to the Bulldogs’ pursuit of Curtis.

“Georgia speaks for itself,” Curtis told On3’s Steve Wiltfong back on Feb. 24. “I’ve built a relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Smart…My relationship with the coaches. Coach Bobo and Coach Gummy most importantly. I think they’re a powerhouse and they have great coaches all-around. They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined.”
If he ultimately signs with Georgia, Curtis is the highest ranked quarterback the Bulldogs have signed since Brock Vandagriff who was a five-star in the class of 2021.
Georgia will have a quarterback battle between Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi. Curtis could slot in and be the heir apparent in the future as he lines up a future battle between 2025 signees Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender.

Scouting Report
Elite arm talent with creative playmaking ability. Has a big frame, measuring in at around 6-foot-3.5, 225 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his junior season. Looks like the top arm talent in the 2026 cycle. Ball explodes off his hand. Generates considerable velocity on throws to all areas of the field. Has a loose, natural throwing motion. Capable of delivering impressive passes from several arm angles. A pure rotational athlete who does not need his feet set to throw accurate passes. Plays with a gunslinging mentality and is not afraid to drive the football into tight windows over the middle of the field. A fluid athlete who is tough to corral in the backfield.
Dangerous playmaker and improviser. Had some unbelievable second-reaction plays as a junior, evading pass rushers and uncorking throws 50+ yards downfield. Made impressive strides with his accuracy and decision-making as a junior. Completed over 70% of his passes for 2,830 yards (11.1 yards per attempt) for 40 touchdowns and 3 interceptions while leading his team to a state title. Also rushed for 637 yards and 18 scores. Does not play top competition and is older for the cycle. Will need to continue improving his consistency, but the pure arm talent and playmaking ability give him one of the highest upsides in the 2026 cycle.
Reminds us of
Matthew Stafford
Jared Curtis’ top-shelf arm talent and ability to make plays outside of structure remind us of Matthew Stafford at the same stage. Curtis has a bigger frame than Stafford, while Stafford was more proven against top competition playing at a high level of Texas high school football.
