Georgia Basketball has had yet another player enter the transfer portal. Noah Baumann becomes the tenth Bulldog to do so this offseason after spending just one season in Athens. Baumann transferred into the program last offseason from USC and seems to be choosing to pursue his super-senior year of eligibility with this decision. Given that he’s a graduate transfer, Baumann will be immediately eligible at his next stop.

Baumann started 20 of the 31 games he played in last season with the only game he did not play in being due to illness. He averaged 8.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in 22.1 minutes per game, recording double-figure scoring in 10 outings including a 25-point performance against East Tennessee State. Baumann led the Bulldogs with 59 made 3-pointers, shooting at a 40.7 percent clip, tied for the tenth-best single-season effort in Georgia program history.

Baumann joins Dalen Ridgnal, Cam McDowell, Tyrone Baker, Christian Wright, Kario Oquendo, Josh Taylor, Tyron McMillan, Jaxon Etter and Jonathan Ned in entering the transfer portal, all since March 29. As it stands, the Bulldogs have three players expected to return from the 2021-22 team that went 6-26.

Jailyn Ingram was a sixth-year senior last year, not burning a year of eligibility in 2020-21 due to COVID and having redshirted once before. He got hurt nine games in and was expected to get a medical redshirt if he chooses to pursue that. The same could be said about PJ Horne, however at season’s end, those within the program were not expecting him to pursue. Then there is Braelen Bridges, a super-senior who did not choose to go through through Senior Day ceremonies. Finally, Jabri Abdur-Rahim wrapped up his second season of College Basketball at Georgia after transferring to Athens from Virginia. Abdur-Rahim was one of three Bulldogs to play in all 32 outings, and he’s expected back for his junior season in 2022-23.

Georgia has also added a player from the transfer portal themselves. Longwood transfer Justin Hill announced his commitment to Georgia after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Lancers on their way to the NCAA Tournament. Hill was the first addition, from either the high school or collegiate ranks, in the Mike White era.
