Georgia announces Kentucky as its homecoming opponent for 2025

Georgia’s homecoming is set for the first game in October. The Bulldogs announced Thursday that Kentucky will serve as its opponent for that annual game.
UGA’s first two games of the 2025 season are at home. Marshall will come to Athens in the season opener followed by Austin Peay in week two. The Bulldogs hit the road in week three to take on Tennessee. Each of those first three games will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET. Georgia will enjoy its first bye in week four with Alabama coming to Athens for an evening kickoff on the week prior to Kentucky on September 27.
Kirby Smart has been quite successful against the wildcats since becoming the Georgia head coach. There have been some close calls, including a 27-24 win in Lexington back in 2016. The Bulldogs needed a field goal from Rodrigo Blankenship in the final seconds to win that game. Last year’s game was also at Kentucky with UGA grabbing a tight 13-12 win.
Smart is 9-0 against Mark Stoops and company. Georgia has won 15 straight games in the series and it has won the last six games in Athens by 17 points or more.

The annual showdown with Florida, another 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff, is set for November 1 in Jacksonville. Georgia will travel to Starkville for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff on November 8 before returning home to host preseason No. 1 and SEC favorite Texas on November 15.
