Georgia baseball falls to Vanderbilt to complete sweep

Georgia suffered their second SEC road sweep at the hands of Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores beat the Bulldogs 5-2.
The loss drops Georgia to 33-9 overall and 10-7 in the SEC.
Vanderbilt held the Bulldogs’ lineup to five hits. Two of those hits were solo home runs from Slate Alford and Robbie Burnett.
Starting pitcher Connor Fennell kept Georgia in check with five and two-thirds innings. Georgia was only able to muster three hits and was struck out 11 times by Fennell.
Leighton Finley started for Georgia. He pitched five innings and allowed five hits and three runs. Finley struck out eight batters on Saturday.

Saturday’s game came off the heels of a 3-1 loss on Friday night. Vanderbilt took a 13-7 win in a slugfest on Friday night.
Georgia will have Sunday and Monday off. They will get back on the road to face Clemson on Tuesday night. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 8 p.m.
