Georgia basketball falls in overtime to Clemson

Georgia basketball has its first loss of this season. The Bulldogs fell to Clemson 97-94 in overtime in the Shriner’s Children Charleston Classic on Sunday.
The Bulldogs beat Xavier 78-77 on Friday night to advance to the championship game. The loss moved Georgia to 6-1 on the season so far.
The pair of games was Georgia’s first two contests away from Stegeman Coliseum this season.

Georgia erased a double-digit deficit in the second half time force overtime. The Bulldogs had double-digit leads of their own in the first half.
The Georgia offense continued to hum on Sunday key performances from a few players. Jeremiah Wilkinson led the way with 26 points. Blue Cain had 19 points for Georgia in the loss.

Clemson outrebounded the Bulldogs 45-35. Georgia’s 3-point shooting struggles continued in comparison to Clemson. Georgia shot 9-of-30 from three. That was good enough for 30 percent.
Clemson was 11-of-25, which was 44 percent.
What’s next?
Georgia will take the week of Thanksgiving off from games. The Bulldogs will be back in action next weekend. Georgia will host Tennessee Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stegman Coliseum.
The Bulldogs have opened the season 5-0 on their home floor.
