A pair of Georgia commitments say that they are done with the recruiting process and will stick with the Bulldogs. After flirtation with Big10 schools, St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick and Cartersville (Cartersville, Ga.) wideout Brady Marchese are shutting it down.

Both made their final decisions known through On3’s Hayes Fawcett earlier today. Fitzpatrick was reportedly set to take an official visit to Ohio State this weekend but that has been cancelled. Marchese was a rumored flip to Michigan before he elected to stick with his pledge to the Bulldogs.

Ftizpatrick committed to Georgia just eight days ago. He chose the Bulldogs over the Buckeyes, Texas, Florida, and Miami. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all four websites that publish recruiting rankings, Fitzpatrick is the nation’s No. 64 overall prospect and No. 7 cornerback. He’s the No. 11 player in Florida.

“Coach Smart coached my brother at Alabama, so we know him really well,” Fitzpatrick told On3’s Chad Simmons back on March 12. “I know him well, my family knows him well and we have a great relationship. I have gotten to know the coaches at Georgia well, I have worked with them at camp and I feel like Georgia checks off most of my boxes.”

At 6-foot-1 185 pounds, Marchese is the nation’s No. 353 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the nation’s No. 55 wideout and the No. 42 player in the Peach State.

Marchese joined Georgia’s commitment list approximately three months ago, March 15 to be exact. He did so after a spring where the offers rolled in from schools around the country.

“It was kind of unbelievable, I couldn’t really believe it,” Marchese told DawgsHQ of his offer from UGA. “It meant a lot to me being a Georgia boy and having that happen to me meant a lot…It’s Georgia, they’ll always sit pretty high in my recruitment. I want to get up there and see what it’s about and get into it a little more than what I know about it already.”

Michigan entered the mix with an offer at the end of May. The Wolverines quickly went to work on the Georgia native. They got him in town for an official visit on May 30 and got the momentum headed in their direction. The Bulldogs hosted him for a couple of days starting on June 6 and slowed the Maize and Blue momentum.

It appeared as if Sherrone Moore and company were going to swipe Marchese. Florida also made a strong push but he has elected to stick with the home-state school and says his recruitment is now over.
