Georgia continues to hold steady in latest coaches poll

Georgia remained as the No. 5 team in the latest US LBM coaches’ Poll, which was released on Sunday. Saturday was a drama-free game for the Bulldogs. UGA was ranked as high as No. 3 by voters and as low as No. 10.
The Bulldogs rolled over Mississippi State 41-21 in Starkville to move to 8-1. The top five remained unchanged after the Week 11 slate of games with all five teams winning.
Ohio State continues to sit at No. 1. Indiana earned a late win at Penn State to hold onto the No. 2 spot. The No. 3 spot belongs to Texas A&M. The Aggies made easy work of Missouri. Alabama checks in at No. 4 after beating LSU.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart praised the Bulldogs for a complete team effort on Saturday.
“I’m proud of our guys,” Smart told reporters after the game on Saturday. “I thought that was a total team effort, really tough place to play. I’ve got a lot of respect for Jeff. I told him before the game. His team has played valiantly all year. They’ve been in every game they’ve played. They’re well-coached. They got talented, skilled players.”

Georgia has a major matchup on tap for the coming weekend. The Bulldogs will face Texas, ranked No. 10 in the coaches poll, in Athens on Saturday night. Georgia defeated the Longhorns twice in 2024, once in Austin and again in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.
The Bulldogs will also take on another top 15 team in the regular season. Georgia Tech, after enjoying a bye week, is ranked No. 12 in the latest coaches poll. The Yellow Jackets are 8-1 on the season with the lone loss coming eight days ago at NC State.
