Georgia EDGE commit Khamari Brooks announces season-ending injury

Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee four-star Georgia edge commit Khamari Brooks’ 2025 football season is over. Brooks took to X to announce that he has suffered a fractured hip.
The injury will not require surgery, but Brooks will need three months to heal and begin working toward a return to the football field.
“Loved the journey these past 4 years,” Brooks wrote. “Though my season is cut short, I can’t do anything but thank God for giving me the opportunity to play this sport I love and to play this sport in college. I fractured my hip and will be out 3 months with no surgery.”
A look back at Khamari Brooks’ recruitment
Brooks will enroll early at Georgia. He committed to the Bulldogs back on June 23. Brooks has not looked back at recruiting since. The No. 111 overall prospect in the 2027 Rivals Rankings has been shut down since his pledge.

He was won over by Georgia’s persistence and the priority Georgia outside linebacker coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe made to him throughout the process.
“All the talks we had when I went up there, I’ve been on campus 20 plus times and every time I come up there, he’s like yeah, come on come watch practice,” Brooks said after his commitment. “I feel like the way he recruited me in the process, he let me know that I was that guy.”
Brooks feels he has a great opportunity to get coached well and developed in Athens.
“He’s the guy that probably could have left if he kind of wanted to,” Brooks said of Uzo-Diribe. “He probably had other jobs elsewhere. He’s that good of a coach. I feel like showing that, and the way that he coached, he’s letting guys know. He’s yelling out, but he’s also encouraging you to do something right.”
