Associated Press voters certainly noticed Georgia’s struggled against Austin Peay in week two. An updated AP poll is out and the Bulldogs fell two spots to No. 6. Ohio State, Penn State, and LSU form the top three, in that order. Oregon is up to spots to No. 4 and Miami is at No. 5.

The Bulldogs were ranked No. 5 in the AP poll to start the season. Georgia is still ranked No. 3 in the latest US LBM coaches poll, the same spot as last week and one spot ahead of where it opened the 2025 season.

When it comes to the coaches poll, only Ohio State comes in at No. 1 followed by Penn State at No. 2. LSU and Oregon, in that order, round out the top five. Miami, Texas, Notre Dame, Illinois, and South Carolina, in that order, round out the top 10.

Georgia scored just 14 points in the first half vs. Austin Peay. It squandered a goal line opportunity at the tail end of the half, failing to get the ball in the end zone after multiple attempts from the one-yard line before time expired. The Bulldogs also lost a pair of fumbles that thwarted drives with momentum, one on the opening series of the game and another in the third quarter.

Kirby Smart‘s team also put together a 17-play, 99-yard drive that took well over half of the fourth quarter to help wrap up a game that lasted nearly five hours with the lightning deal. Issues with the weather were anticipated earlier in the day as kickoff was moved up to 2:30 p.m. ET. It was originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

With two non-conference games in the books, the 2-0 Bulldogs will now shift to SEC play. They travel to Knoxville on Saturday to kick off a stretch of eight straight league contest. Georgia and Tennessee will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
