Game time, television announced for Georgia vs. Tennessee

When Georgia hosts Tennessee on November 16, it will be under the Sanford Stadium lights. The SEC announce Monday that the Bulldogs and Volunteers will tee it up at 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised by ABC.
You have to go all the way back to 2014 to find the last time this game was played at Sanford Stadium outside of the old 3:30 p.m. ET CBS slot. That game kicked off at noon and Georgia won 35-32. These two teams last kicked off at night in 2019. The game took place at Tennessee and Georgia won 43-14. The last night game these two teams played in Athens was all the way back in 2006. Tennessee won that one 51-33.
The Vols last entered Sanford Stadium as the nation’s No. 1 team according to the initial release of the 2022 College Football Playoff rankings. Georgia jumped. out to a 21-3 lead in that game and led 24-6 at the half. They went on to win 27-13 and jumped to No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings. That Georgia team went on to run the table and win its second straight National Championship.
The Bulldogs went into Knoxville last season and despite Tennessee taking its first play from scrimmage 75 yards for a touchdown, they dominated the game. Georgia went on a 38-3 run from that point on and earned the blowout victory.

These two teams have met every season since 1992 and Georgia had a losing record against the Vols as late as 2018. The Bulldogs pulled even at 23-23-2 that day and they have grabbed a five-game lead in the all-time series. UGA has won seven straight against Tennessee and 12 of the last 14 dating back to 2010.
Both programs are still very much in the College Football Playoff picture. Georgia is ranked No. 2 in the latest AP poll while Tennessee comes in at No. 7. Both teams have one loss but Georgia has a couple of top 20 wins to it’s credit, both away from home, while Tennessee has one ranked win. That win however, is against Alabama, the team that handed UGA it’s only loss.
Georgia will play at Ole Miss this week. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Tennessee will host Mississippi State with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
