Georgia Football Injury Report: Drew Bobo will miss rematch with Alabama
It’s time to turn our collective focus to the 2025 SEC Championship game where Georgia and Alabama will lock horns in a rematch from September. Each team released its first availability report of the week on Wednesday night, and Georgia, as expected, is without a few starters.
Fourth-year junior Drew Bobo, who sustained a foot injury in the Bulldogs 16-9 win over Georgia Tech, is out for the SEC title game. Bobo started the first 10 games of the 2025 season but gave way to Malachi Toliver for the Charlotte game as he allowed a nasty laceration on his right, snapping hand to heal.
He played the vast majority of the first half but was unable to suit up in the second half, returning to the sideline in a walking boot, sweats, and his jersey. Toliver played the entire second half and is expect to get his second career start against the Crimson Tide.
Georgia is also without senior wideout Colbie Young (lower leg), redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Jordan Hall (knee), and redshirt sophomore safety Kyron Jones (foot). Each of those players have missed multiple games with their injuries. Freshman running back Bo Walker (facial fracture) and freshman tight end Ethan Barbour (ankle) are also out for the Bulldogs.
Young hasn’t played since the Bulldogs’ third offensive snap against Ole Miss after coming into that game as the team’s leading receiver. Hall went down early in Georgia’s win over Florida a little over a month ago and will miss the rest of the 2025 season. Jones was hurt in practice leading up to the win over Ole Miss and hasn’t yet returned despite getting in some practice time.
Freshman wideout Talyn Taylor, who has been out with a collarbone injury since Week 6, is no longer listed on the injury report. Redshirt freshman wideout Chauncey Bowens, who contributed 119 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in Georgia’s loss to Alabama earlier this year, is also absent from the report.
Alabama will be without at least one key player. Senior defensive lineman LT Overton is out for the contest. He had a key tackle for loss on a 4th and 1 rushing attempt from Georgia in the first matchup, one that kept the score at 24-21 in favor of Alabama when the Bulldogs were deep in Crimson Tide territory.

Overton is a veteran leader for the Crimson Tide. He has 35 tackles on the year with six tackles for loss and four sacks. He ranks No. 2 on the team in both sacks and tackles for loss.
Alabama will also be without defensive back Kameron Howard, linebacker Jah-Marien Latham, defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., running back Kevin Riley, offensive lineman Mal Waldrep, and defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.
A quartet of Bama players are questionable for the game. Starting running back and leading rusher Jam Miller falls in that category after suffering what appeared to be a lower leg injury against Auburn. Offensive lineman Kam Dewberry and tight ends Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. are also questionable.
Georgia and Alabama will tee it up at 4 p.m .ET on Saturday inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. ABC will broadcast the game.
