ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia will be without five players when it takes on Kentucky (12 p.m. ET on ABC) for homecoming. The Bulldogs are missing two players who started the season opener, one contributor, and two other young reserves.

Freshman wideout Talyn Taylor is the only new injury this week. He suffered an “upper body injury” in practice this week, one that required surgery and will keep him out for at least the next few weeks. The former five-star prospect has played just one offensive snap the past two games against Tennessee and Alabama. Taylor has served as a gunner on the Georgia punt team and has appeared in all four games. He has two catches for 28 yards on the season and couldn’t haul in his only target against Alabama.

Earnest Greene is out for the third time this season, including the past two games. The California started at right tackle in the season opener but exited after 19 plays. The Bulldogs were up 14-0 after two drives when the fourth-year junior came out with a back injury.

He sat for the Austin Peay game but started the following week when Georgia beat Tennessee. Greene was unable to finish that game as the back injury cropped back up. He struggled mightily in that contest. Counting Greene, Georgia has used three different starters at right tackle and it has played five players in all.

Jah Jackson got the start against Austin Peay but did not look ready to play the position. Georgia tapped Bo Hughley to start last week against Alabama with Juan Gaston spelling him and, eventually, playing the most snaps. Michael Uini saw the most snaps at right tackle against Tennessee despite not getting the start.

Freshman tight end Ethan Barbour, a major contributor for the first two games, is also out. He’ll miss the rest of the season after suffering a gruesome ankle injury in Georgia’s win over Austin Peay. Barbour started the first game of his career vs. Marshall in the season opener.

Freshman wideout Thomas Blackshear, who caught one pass for 14 yards against Marshall in mop-up duty, is out for his third straight game. The Savannah native was a four-star prospect in the 2025 class but did not arrive until the summer. Georgia beat out the likes of LSU and Tennessee to land Blackshear.

Redshirt freshman center Malachi Toliver is also out. After making the trip to Tennessee in week three, Toliver has missed the past two games. His injury is undisclosed, but he missed most of Georgia preseason camp with a high-ankle sprain that required tight rope surgery.
