Georgia Football Injury Report: Latest on Zion Branch, more Alabama players out
ATLANTA, Ga. — The SEC has released its final availability report for Georgia vs. Alabama in the league title game and, for Georgia, there’s still one situation that we’re watching. Fourth-year junior safety Zion Branch will be a game-time decision for the game.
Branch appeared on the availability report on Thursday, listed as questionable. He had the same designation on Friday. Georgia also has six players out for the game — senior wideout Colbie Young (lower leg), fourth-year junior center Drew Bobo (foot), redshirt sophomore safety Kyron Jones (foot), redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Jordan Hall (knee), freshman tight end Ethan Barbour (ankle), and freshman running back Bo Walker (jaw).
Meanwhile, all but one of the Alabama players who appeared on the availability report this week are now listed as out. The list includes 10 players, none more important than senior defensive end LT Overton. He came up with the tackle for loss that thwarted a Georgia fourth-down attempt in the first matchup this season, and he ranks second on the team in sacks with four and tackles for loss with six.
The Crimson Tide will also play Georgia without a pair of tailbacks, including the team’s leading rusher, Jam Miller. They’ll also be without Kevin Riley, who had two catches for 37 yards in the first matchup. Senior tight end Josh Cuevas is also out. Danny Lewis, Cuevas’ backup, is available after being listed as questionable all week.

Alabama will also be without the services of EDGE Kelby Collins vs. Georgia. He, like Overton, appeared on the availability report this week. He didn’t show up until Thursday, however.
Kickoff between Georgia and Alabama is set for 4 p.m. ET. The game will be televised by ABC. A first-round bye is on the line for both teams. UGA will earn a bye and a Sugar Bowl berth with a win. Alabama is likely facing the scenario but it’s not as set-in-stone with the Crimson Tide entering the game with two losses and ranked No. 9.
