The injury prognoses of Georgia tight end Lawson Luckie and starting center Drew Bobo are positive according to Kirby Smart. In his regular meeting with the Georgia beat on Monday, Smart offered updates on each of those players.

“Drew had a pretty bad laceration on his finger,” Smart said. He’s patched up and ready to go. He’ll practice today. Lawson is doing well and think he’s going to make a good, quick turn but we’ll see.”

Bobo has started all nine of Georgia’s games this season. He started two games a season ago while Jared Wilson, now with the New England Patriots, battled an ankle injury. After the Bulldogs’ win at Tennessee in September, Bobo was named the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week.

Luckie was on the wrong end of a scary hit in Georgia’s win over Mississippi State on Saturday, sustaining a head injury. The junior tight end secured the football briefly before being hit hard by two MSU defenders. In the immediate moments after the hit, Luckie barely moved as several Georgia trainers came out to his aid.

Under the supervision of medical professionals, Luckie first sat up. Then he was helped to his feet where he slowly walked off the field. There was no update given during the game but Smart spoke about him afterward.

“He obviously got a shot to the head, and he’s fine,” Smart said. “He’s moving. He wanted to go back in the game. The decision makers held him.”

Regardless of what the numbers say, Luckie is a big part of Georgia’s offense. He had a huge game recently, catching three touchdowns in Georgia’s comeback win over Ole Miss. Those are his only three touchdowns on the year. He has 10 catches total for 81 yards and was targeted twice against Mississippi State.

Smart was asked about sophomore cornerback Demello Jones in the question where he commented on Bobo and Luckie. He did not comment. Jones is dealing with a left elbow injury but traveled with the Bulldogs to Starkville. Per the SEC availability report released 90 minutes prior to kickoff, Jones was listed as a game-time decision.

The Swainsboro High School product participated in pregame warmup, working with the No. 2 defense during both 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 portions. He did not, however, play in the game.
