Georgia and Missouri are set to meet for the 12th time on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network). The Bulldogs are 10-1 vs the Tigers overall and 9-1 since the latter joined the SEC in 2012.

There are some interesting betting trends, as measured by VegasInsider.com, going into the contest. VegasInsider, which aggregates the betting lines from a number of other sports books, has Georgia as the 28-point favorite.

It also has 90 percent of the point-spread bets being placed on Georgia. A whopping 95 percent of the spread money is also on the Bulldogs.

When it comes to the money line, which is picking the winner straight up, Georgia is -5000. That means a bettor would have to wage $5,000 on Georgia to win in order to win $100. According to VegasInsider, 98 percent of the bets are on Georgia to win straight up.

Then there’s the over/under. The total for Saturdays game sits at 54 points after opening at 54.5. VegasInsider says that 63 percent of the bets are on the over, but those are smaller bets because 97 percent of the cash is on the under. The under has hit on each of UGA’s four games this season.

Georgia vs. Missouri history

Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012 and played its first league game against Georgia inside Memorial Stadium. Georgia won that one by a score of 41-20. It has gone on to win each of its games in Columbia since the Tigers joined the league.

The 2014 contest resulted in a 34-0 Bulldog beatdown of the Tigers. The closest contest was in 2016 when Georgia needed a late touchdown from Jacob Eason to Isaiah McKenzie to earn a 28-27 victory. That was Kirby Smart’s third game as UGA’s head coach and the defense played a big role, forcing a fumble on Mizzou’s final possession to seal the deal.

Georgia went to Columbia in 2018 and grabbed a 43-29 win on the strength of two non-offensive touchdowns — one on defense and one on a blocked punt. The Bulldogs dominated the Tigers in 2020 by a score of 49-14.

Missouri’s lone win against Georgia came in 2013 at Samford Stadium. The Bulldogs have amassed a 9-1 record against Mizzou since the SEC expanded. Last year’s contest took place in Athens where Georgia won 43-6 in November behind a pair of touchdown tosses from Stetson Bennett IV.

The Bulldogs are four games into their National Championship defense with a 4-0 record. They are 1-0 in the SEC and have outscored their opponents — Oregon, Samford, South Carolina and Kent State by a combined score of 167-32.

Missouri is 2-2 on the year with wins over Louisiana Tech and Abilene Christian. The two losses came at the hands of Kansas State and Auburn, making the Tigers 0-1 in league play and 0-2 in Power Five contests.
