The first US LBM coaches poll for the 2025 season is out and Georgia will begin the year as a top five team. College Football coaches rank the Bulldogs No. 4 for the upcoming season.

After being predicted by league media to win the SEC, Texas is ranked No. 1. Ohio State, the 2024 National Champion, is ranked No. 2 and Penn State comes in at No. 3. Notre Dame, after making the title game in 2024 and beating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, is ranked No. 5.

Clemson, Oregon, Alabama, LSU, and Miami round out the top 10 in the initial coaches poll. Looking at the SEC, South Carolina is No. 13, Ole Miss is No. 15, Florida is at No. 17, Tennessee is at No. 18, and Texas A&M sits at No. 21. Georgia’s 2025 schedule features five teams ranked inside the top 20 to begin the season.

Georgia will get the three highest-ranked teams on its schedule, Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss, at home. It played all three of those teams on the road last season and lost two of them. It will play Florida at a neutral site in Jacksonville and Tennessee on the road for its SEC opener on September 13.

Kirby Smart is entering his 10th season at Georgia. He has led the program to the SEC Championship game seven times. The Bulldogs have won three SEC titles under Smart while also bringing home a pair of National Championships.

Georgia has 13 players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, the most since the 2021 National Championship team. The Bulldogs came back strong the following season, going 15-0 and winning a second title in as many seasons.

The Bulldogs will begin the 2025 season on August 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET against Marshall. They play their first two games in Sanford Stadium before traveling to Knoxville to open SEC play.
