Georgia down running back for rivalry game vs. Tech
ATHENS, Ga. — Warmups are underway at Sanford Stadium and Georgia has a surprise on the injury report. Freshman running back Chauncey Bowens emerged onto the field with a boot on his left foot and in street clothes. He joins Trevor Etienne (ribs) in missing the game, leaving the Bulldogs limited in the backfield.
Georgia takes on Georgia Tech with just four scholarship running backs available, plus reliable walk-on Cash Jones. Nate Frazier, also a freshman, has handled a heavier workload in the absence of Etienne the last two games and now leads UGA in rushing with 537 yards and seven touchdowns on 112 carries.
Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson, both of whom have missed time this season, are indeed dressed out. That was the case last Saturday as well, however, neither participated. For Branson, it’s been five games sidelined with a sprained MCL while Roderick underwent toe surgery ahead of the season and has yet to appear.

In less surprising news, defensive linemen Christen Miller is also not dressed out for the contest after he suffered a shoulder injury last Saturday in Georgia’s win over UMass. Others in street clothes include Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Marcus Harrison, Kris Jones and Nyier Daniels – all true freshmen.
Kickoff time is set for 7:30 p.m ET from Sanford Stadium in Athens. Georgia is listed as a 17.5-point favorite over Georgia Tech, looking to extend its win streak in the series to seven. Joe Tessitore, Jesse Palmer and Katie George will be on the call for ABC.
