Georgia added to a position of need with the commitment of former Army edge Elo Modozie. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound outside linebacker announced his intentions to continue his college football career at Georgia. Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBSSports were the first to report.

Modozie has two years of eligibility left. He signed with Army as a member of the 2022 signing class as a wide receiver.

Modozie’s production exploded in 2024. He put up 34 tackles and totaled 6.5 sacks as a sophomore.

Soon after announcing his intentions to enter the transfer portal, Modozie announced a visit to Georgia. Modozie visited Georgia on Friday and Saturday before making his decision and announcing his new college destination.

Modozie joins a young group of outside linebackers and in Athens.

Georgia lost Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams and Chas Chambliss after the 2024 season. Walker and Williams are both expected to be first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Chambliss is also looking to realize an opportunity in the NFL. The Bulldogs suffered an unexpected blow after rising junior Damon Wilson jumped into the transfer portal in January.

Wilson ultimately ended up at Missouri ahead of the 2025 season. Modozie will be paired with young players like Quintavius Johnson, Gabe Harris, Isaiah Gibson, Chase Linton and Kris Jones.
