Georgia lands commitment of in-state OL Zachary Lewis

Georgia continues the momentum on the recruiting trail with the commitment of Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett offensive lineman Zachary Lewis. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound interior offensive lineman is the 13th commit in Georgia’s 2026 class.
Lewis announced his intent to play for the in-state program on Monday. Lewis was in town over the weekend for his official visit. It was only his second official visit of the process, but he had seen enough.
The Bulldogs offered Lewis last month. Georgia was a school that Lewis grew up loving in his early years. The offer made an immediate impact on his recruitment.
“I’d say this is probably one of the biggest offers,” Lewis told DawgsHQ back on May 22. “Growing up in North Gwinnett around Georgia, I’ve always been a Georgia fan. So it’s just been super cool to have the ability to go there and potentially play there… It was definitely pretty cool. Having that connection to North Gwinnett as well as Georgia. I mean, growing up a Georgia fan, it just all connected really well.”

Lewis took his official visit to Georgia over the weekend. The Bulldogs made an impression. Lewis felt Georgia’s passion and the desire that they have for adding him to the 2026 class.
“One thing that stood out was just great, the coaches are with the players and recruits, they’re very personable and truthful,” Lewis told DawgsHQ on Sunday. “Coach Searels and me talked one on one and he was just excited that I was there, and you could tell that there’s fire and passion for me. I felt like that was one thing that felt good to me was the passion the coaches had.”
