Early mock draft season is here for NFL analysts and Georgia linebacker CJ Allen is the rising upperclassman getting some of the buzz. The Bulldogs had three defensive players selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Mykel Williams went 11th overall to the San Fransico 49ers, Jalon Walker 15th overall to the Atlanta Falcons and Malaki Starks 27th overall to the Baltimore Ravens.

ESPN’s Matt Miller posted his early NFL Mock Draft on Monday. Miller predicted Allen as the No. 26 overall selection in the draft to the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Sometimes when you’re watching film, a player jumps out as a perfect fit for an NFL scheme or coach,” Miller wrote. “That’s what Allen is with Jim Harbaugh, as the 6-foot-1, 235-pounder fits the mold of linebackers that Harbaugh had with the 49ers and what he recruited at Michigan. Allen crashes rushing lanes with power while showing the agility to excel in pass coverage. He’s protected by Georgia’s top-tier defensive line, but Allen’s read-and-react ability makes him a good bet to be an immediate NFL starter.”

Allen has played a key role for Georgia in his first two seasons. He put up 76 total tackles and an interception in 2024. Allen had 41 tackles in 2023 as a true freshman.
