Georgia long snapper Beau Gardner wins Patrick Mannelly Award
Beau Gardner got in on the Georgia postseason accolades part. The Bulldogs’ long-snapper took home the Patrick Mannelly Award on Saturday night.
The award celebrates college football’s best long snapper since 2019. Gardner completed his second full season as Georgia’s long snapper.

He transferred to Georgia from UCLA after the 2023 season. Gardner has been consistently a solid snapper since arriving in Athens.
Georgia’s special teams unit is also anchored by the Ray Guy Award winner, Brett Thorson. Gardner takes pride in the role he plays.
“I don’t want to say it’s exciting to punt because obviously, we don’t want to be on the field much because we want our offense to be scoring on every possession,” Gardner told reporters earlier this season. “But yeah, I do, I enjoy it. I mean, the five to six seconds I’m on the field, and I can do my job to help the team, help affect the game. It’s definitely fun.”
