Georgia moves up again in coaches poll after win at Auburn

Georgia got another bump up in the newest American Football Coaches Association Coaches Poll released on Sunday.
The Bulldogs fought through another slow start on Saturday night and came away with a 20-10 win over rival Auburn. Georgia is now the No. 7 team in the coaches’ top 25 poll.
The Bulldogs moved up from No. 9 in last week’s poll. Nationally, Oregon fell to Indiana at home on Saturday. Texas rolled over a top 10-ranked Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.

That has opened a few spots for Georgia to move up in the poll.
Georgia earns comeback win on the road
Georgia had to battle back on Saturday night. The Bulldogs were down 10-0 and staring at 17-0 when a fumble occurred on the goal line. Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold was close to crossing the goal line when the ball was poked out and recovered by Kyron Jones.
Georgia seemed to regain some momentum after that play. Head coach Kirby Smart praised his team’s fight on Saturday night.
“Our kids never quit,” Smart told reporters after the game. “I’m proud of our kids. I’m as proud of this team as I am probably any team ever for the performance. We did not come out and start fast or play well. They outplayed us. They played with momentum, tempo, run game, stopped us from running the ball really in the first half, and frustrating, but the kids never quit. And that’s never been more evident than a punch out on the goal line, which we practice all the time. And Raylen, CJ, whoever did it, it was amazing play that they’re not in until they’re in. That’s our saying, they ain’t in until they’re in. And there were some long faces over there, but the kids did a great job, really an electric atmosphere to play in.”
Georgia will be the host for the top-five-ranked Ole Miss on Saturday. ESPN’s College Gameday is set to spotlight the showdown on Saturday.
