Georgia OL Drew Bobo, Earnest Greene will sit out vs. Charlotte

Georgia, done with SEC play for the 2025 regular season, will play Charlotte on Saturday as 44.5-point favorites. The Bulldogs will also sit a pair of starting offensive linemen against the 49ers.
DawgsHQ has learned, from checking with sources and pre-game warmup, Drew Bobo and Earnest Greene, both redshirt juniors, will sit the game out. Bobo has started each of the past 10 games at center while Greene has been Georgia’s starting right tackle for the past four games since returning from a back injury.
According to DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell, Malachi Toliver is in line for his first career start at center while Juan Gaston, a true freshman, will start at right tackle. Gaston has one other start this season at right tackle.
Bobo sustained a hand laceration in the win at Mississippi State, an injury that required several stitches. He played last week vs. Texas, wearing a glove. All signs point toward Georgia playing it safe with Bobo. Greene is also thought to be healthy enough to play and practiced all week. It appears as if the staff is giving him a chance to rest this week.

Toliver was Georgia’s No. 2 center throughout preseason camp but lost that job temporarily to Cortez Smith after sustaining a high-ankle sprain. He was listed as “out” for the first couple of SEC student-athlete availability reports. Smith is expected to see action against Charlotte, too.
Gaston was served as Georgia’s sixth man on the offensive line since Greene returned from injury. He has played meaningful snaps at two different positions this year — right tackle and right guard. In fact, Gaston started Georgia’s season opener vs. Marshall at right guard, becoming the first UGA true freshman to start a season opener along the offensive line since Andrew Thomas in 2017.
Kickoff for Georgia vs. Charlotte is set for 12:45 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be broadcast by the SEC Network.
