Georgia offensive lineman Nyier Daniels has been arrested in Commerce Ga. on over a dozen counts. DawgsHQ has learned that he is no longer with the team. The list of charges includes four felonies and nine misdemeanors. Daniels remains in jail at the time of this report.

The redshirt freshman, who hails from New Jersey, was booked on two counts of cruelty to children, fleeing or attempting to elide a police officer, and affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflective windows. All of those are felonies.

In addition, he was also charged with reckless driving, maximum limits, two counts of stop signs/yield signs, driving on roadways laned for traffic, and a number of other driving violations.

Daniels signed with Georgia in the 2024 recruiting class as a four-star prospect. He played in just one game. With a year under his belt, Daniels has been unable to crack Georgia’s rotation along the offensive line, even with the Bulldogs dealing with numerous injuries.

In the not-so-distant past, Georgia has elected to move on from players due to driving-related incidents, especially when those incidents garner multiple charges. The Bulldogs parted ways with fellow 2024 offensive line signee Marques Easley this spring after he was involved in a traffic accident and ran his car into the side of a house. right around the same time, Nitro Tuggle was caught excessively speeding and driving recklessly in Athens-Clarke County. He is no longer with the program and entered the portal during the spring window.

Georgia is coming off a 35-3 win over Charlotte where Daniels played 10 snaps. He played 12 snaps in the season opener vs. Marshall and nine more vs. Austin Peay.

“We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” Steven Drummond, Georgia Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Marketing Officer, said per UGASports.com. “This is a pending legal matter, and we will not have further comment at this time.”
