Thorson came to Georgia from Australia. He has taken a lot of stock in his experiences in Athens in his career. He has been Georgia’s punter for four years. Thorson takes nothing for granted in his final year in Athens.
“Coming from Australia, I think I’ve always had a really good appreciation for the things I’ve gotten to experience over here,” Thorson told reporters earlier this season. “And going into this last year where I know it’s my last, there are no waivers or COVID years or anything I can add to the end of this. So, just taking it all in and being extremely appreciative of this opportunity that I’ve had and the opportunities we’re going to have going forward. It’s definitely been the experience of a lifetime.”
Georgia and Thorson will be back in action on Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
