Georgia is reset after the bye week. The Bulldogs head to Jacksonville to face rival Florida on Saturday. The Bulldogs rallied to win an instant classic over Ole Miss two weeks ago.

Georgia practiced twice last week before taking a weekend away from football. The Bulldogs have been on the practice field twice this week, looking toward the annual rivalry match-up with the Gators.

Georgia has battled its share of injuries this season. The offensive line has been beaten and battered all season. Earnest Greene returned to the starting lineup last week.

Monroe Freeling has continued to grow healthier after a sprained ankle against Kentucky. Juan Gaston has seemingly shaken the impacts of his ankle injury.

On the defensive line, Jordan Hall went down against Ole Miss. He will be ‘fine’ this week against Florida.

“I mean, I’m fine. I mean, I’m able to play and run,” Hall told reporters on Tuesday. “So all my worries really out the window, I’m able to play.”

Georgia will likely be without wide receiver Colbie Young for the rest of the season after his injury against Ole Miss. Safety Kyron Jones is still on the mend and looking to return at some point.

The Bulldogs have a refreshed feel about them.

“You pick up a little speed, a little juice in the legs,” Head coach Kirby Smart told reporters on Wednesday during the SEC teleconference. “You’ve got to be careful that you don’t run that out of them in a bye week, and you’ve got to be smart the way you go about practicing, and historically we’ve tried to do a good job of that with our guys coming off a bye week.”

Georgia has extra juice this week ahead of rivalry game

There was a bounce about Georgia’s team on Monday for the first practice out of the bye week. The Bulldogs have some energy as they have a lot of opportunity to make a run in the College Football Playoffs over the last month and change of the season.

The opponent has something to do with that as well.

“Georgia-Florida week doesn’t need a lot more explanation,” Smart said. “It’s what it is. We have a lot of kids that were recruited by both schools, they know the history of the match-ups and the ability to go to Atlanta historically when the divisions were there, ran through this game, so the guys have had great energy.”

The Bulldogs and Gators will face off at 3:30 p.m. in Jacksonville on Saturday.
