Georgia specialists Brett Thorson, Peyton Woodring land on watchlists
Georgia added more preseason accolades on Friday with punter Brett Thorson and place-kicker Peyton Woodring landing watchlists.

Georgia has confidence in specialists
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart hinted at his trust in his special team unit ahead of 2025 on Friday on ‘The Steakhouse’ with Steak Shapiro and Rusty Mansell. The Bulldogs have a lot of youth, but there is a lot of experience in the kicking game.
“The two specialists that actually kick the ball are going to be experienced; we don’t have a lot of experience, but we do there,” Smart said. “That gives you good, quiet confidence. We have to be better in our coverage unit. We got hurt a little bit late, but we certainly have the people to do it… It gives me confidence. You can have confidence in your short-yardage offense, or you can have confidence in your kicker. You can have both, but it makes it a hard decision.”
