Georgia continues to hold its place inside the Associated Press after a 24-20 win over Florida on Saturday. The Bulldogs check in at No. 5 in the latest AP Poll. The fifth spot is where Georgia was placed following the bye week last week.

Two other SEC teams occupy the top five. Texas A&M sits at No. 3 and Alabama sits at No. 4. Ohio State and Indiana hold the top two spots, respectively.

Georgia rallied on Saturday evening to beat Florida. The Gators led late in the fourth quarter when Georgia running back Chauncey Bowens broke off a 36-yard touchdown run to take the lead. Georgia’s defense got a stop, and the offense was able to drain the clock and earn the win.

Head coach Kirby Smart praised Georgia’s resiliency once again following the game.

“Yeah, opening statement is, this team just won’t go away,” Smart told reporters on Saturday night. “I mean, first of all, I want to give a lot of credit to Billy Napier, who assembled this roster, and he’s got a bunch of good, tough, physical players. That’s one of the biggest defensive lines, offensive lines we’ve played against, and they match us very well from a physical standpoint, and they’re hard to defend. They did a good job up front, stopping things; they made it tough, our kids are very resilient. Another night in the SEC. I don’t know what else is going on in the country right now, but when you play in this league, every game comes down to the last two possessions.”

Georgia will head back out on the road next week. They will tangle with another set of Bulldogs in Starkville as they face Mississippi State. The Mississippi State Bulldogs earned a 38-35 win over Arkansas.
