Georgia sticks at No. 4 in Week 14 AP Poll

After playing eight straight SEC games, Georgia got a bit of a reprieve on Saturday. It coasted to a 35-3 win over Charlotte for its 10th win of the season, allowing the Bulldogs to stay put at No. 4 in the Week 14 Associated Press Poll.
Ohio State remains in the No. 1 spot followed by Indiana at No. 2. Texas A&M is the SEC’s top-ranked team at No. 3. Oregon rounds out the top five after its win over USC.
Ole Miss falls to No. 6 with the Ducks rising two spots. Texas Tech is No. 7 followed by Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Alabama to round out the top 10. The Bulldogs Week 14 opponent, Georgia Tech, took a tumble to No. 23 after losing to Pitt 42-28 on Saturday night. UGA and Tech will lock horns on Black Friday, November 28, at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Georgia has wins over three ranked in the top 20. The Bulldogs beat Tennessee, which now ranks No. 18, in Week 3. The Bulldogs needed overtime to make that one happen on Rocky Top. Wins over Ole Miss and Texas, ranked No. 16, came inside Sanford Stadium.

The win on Saturday gave Georgia five straight seasons with at least 10 wins. It was also Senior Day in the Classic City.
“I’m really proud of these seniors,” Kirby Smart said after the game. “I think they finished up with a 25-1 home record. That’s remarkable, considering the league they played in, the teams they played against. Proud of them. Proud that our guys got to come out and play a lot of players and play well early. Got to continue to grow, get more guys playing winning football, get guys healthy, and get ready for a big game next week.”
The Bulldogs will need some help to get into the SEC Championship game. It’s going to take a loss by Texas A&M, which plays Texas on November 28, or Alabama, which plays Auburn on November 29, for Georgia to get into the conference title game for the fifth straight season and the eighth time in the past nine years.
