Georgia support staff involved in traffic incident en route to Auburn

The Georgia Bulldogs’ road trip to Auburn is off to a bit of a rocky start, as a bus with football support staff ran into a bit of trouble just outside of the Classic City on Friday afternoon. Thankfully, it appears all is well.
Per UGA Sports Communication:
‘A bus carrying UGA support staff to Auburn was involved in a minor traffic incident today. No staff sustained any injuries. We are thankful for the quick response of law enforcement and emergency personnel.’
The incident was confirmed to have occurred off of State Route 316, the main corridor between Athens and Atlanta.
Georgia, coming off a conference win against the Kentucky Wildcats, is set for kickoff against the Auburn Tigers, which will be coming off a bye week, at 7:30 PM on Saturday evening in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Per BetMGM, the Bulldogs will take the field on the Plains as a -3.5 favorite over Auburn. Georgia is currently in the midst of an eight game winning streak over the Tigers, which began in the 2017 season.
Kirby Smart is taking nothing for granted, however.
“What an atmosphere, an opportunity to play a night game at their place,” the Georgia head coach told reporters on Monday. “They’ve got incredible atmosphere, which is starting to be the common theme around our conference. But this place is really hard to play. They do an unbelievable job with the whatever you call the game, interaction, the crowd, the fans, the students. Tremendous job they do, they got a great football team.”
For Smart, it’s clear that the atmosphere will be a factor in this one.
“It’s what makes it hard anytime you go on the road,” Smart said. “It’s an intense, crazy environment. The night games are more so than the day games in terms of that atmosphere that’s created, but we practice in that. We create an environment of chaos and noise and try to create confusion and do things so that we have to communicate in that. So our guys get to practice in it, we’ll have to go out and execute.”
