Georgia takes a tumble in latest AP Poll after loss to Alabama

Sunday is judgment day for Georgia following their 24-21 loss to Alabama on Saturday night. The Bulldogs have been assigned their place in the latest Associated Press Poll following their first loss of 2025.
The Bulldogs are the No. 12-ranked team in the latest poll released on Sunday. Georgia was ranked No. 4 in the last two polls after their win over Tennessee and bye week.
There was a shift at the top as Oregon defeated Penn State and jumped to number two in the poll. Ohio State remains at the top. Ole Miss’ win over LSU has pushed them to fourth.
Georgia will look to rebound against Kentucky in Sanford Stadium next week. The Bulldogs had opportunities to win Saturday night’s game against the Crimson Tide.

A late turnover on downs thwarted Georgia’s attempt to tie the game or take a lead. Head coach Kirby Smart addressed the decision to go for the first down on the Bulldogs’ final possession following the game.
“We had decided previously that if we gained anything, we were going for it,” Smart told reporters after the game. “We were gonna probably kick the field goal if we didn’t get anything… We’d run it earlier in the night. We had run it for a conversion; it’s just a block that we got to make. When they ran through, they made a really good play. I do that ten out of ten times in terms of the decision whether you go full or tempo or not, and we felt like tempo had been really good for us throughout the year.”
