Georgia – Tennessee gave us a lot to talk about on The Georgia Show: WATCH

How about that Georgia home crowd against Tennessee? Despite their doubters, all 93,000+ fans in Athens turned Sanford Stadium into a legitimate house of horrors for the Vols.

First there was the noise.

Seven false start penalties paid testament to that.

Then there was the fury.

Six Georgia sacks and a dominant Jalen Carter showed Tennessee’s offensive line what a real SEC defensive front looks like.

And finally, there was the rain.

I’ve heard tell it makes corn.

And have furthermore heard that corn, in turn, makes whiskey.

The Dawgs were feelin’ frisky, alright, in a Georgia victory no one in Athens will soon forget.

Jake Rowe and I shared our immediate thoughts on The Georgia Show after the game. You can subscribe to our YouTube channel and watch.

You can also listen to the audio replays on Apple and Spotify podcasts. Reviews and ratings and follows help us a ton.

Like a Stetson Bennett route tree, you have plenty of options from which to do your pickin’.

Let’s start with the big Georgia – Tennessee storyline coming in to the game

Former Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge may regret his proclamation about Georgia’s non-intimidating home crowd.

Vols fans poked fun at Kirby Smart’s request for Georgia fans to make Sanford Stadium rock and roll.

Ainge jumped on the bandwagon, and surmised that his mid-2000’s experiences in Athens would translate to the 2022 version.

Well, these Dawgs are different.

And they give their fans much to be loud about each and every game, no matter the weather.

Many of my friends and family members say it was the most electric they’d ever heard this building.

Given the fact that the field is named for the Late Vince Dooley, and that this was Georgia’s first home game since his passing last week, it just felt right that the Bulldog Nation would honor him with their presence.

No doubt he was impressed up there.

Especially with the Dawgs’ mighty fine puntuh, Brett Thorson.

The Aussie boomed a kick into a perfect coffin-corner placement, and set up field position for a Stetson Bennett-to-Ladd McConkey touchdown.

Other stuff we covered:

– Despite the physical domination of this highly-heralded Tennessee offense, the Dawgs are banged up on defense

– This win was a statement for Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program, according to Rowe

– Georgia shuts down ‘anonymous scouts’ who said they don’t have offensive playmakers outside of Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington

– How the Dawgs’ defense shut down Hendon Hooker and the nation’s top offense

Thank you, Dawgs. We can’t keep having all this fun without y’all.
