As a Recruit
Personal Life
A former On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Napa (Calif.) High school, Brock Bowers took the college football world by storm with his impact as a true freshman. Along with earning Associated Press and coaches All-SEC first-team honors, he was named the SEC Newcomer of the year and a second-team All-American. As a freshman, Bowers owns the UGA record for single-season receiving (791) and touchdowns (11) by a tight end. Bowers caught a career-high and SEC championship game record for a tight end 10 passes vs. Alabama in 2021. “Right away you can tell he only knew one speed,” Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken said before the 2021 College Football Playoffs. “He’d be 10 yards in front of every other guy. He was working at his own speed to be the best he could be, and that is a rare quality to put yourself out there like he did. So right away you could see this guy is different.” Bowers is majoring in engineering. His parents, Warren and DeAnna Bowers, were student-athletes at Utah State. His mother was an All-America softball player and is in the Aggies' Hall of Fame. His father was a two-time All-Big West center for the USU football program. His sister, Brianna, plays on the Sacramento State softball team.
