JT Daniels is expected back in the lineup for Georgia in the SEC opener against South Carolina.

The Irvine, Calif. native was announced as with the starters on the Sanford Stadium video board before the game.

Daniels missed last week’s game with an oblique strain against UAB, giving Stetson Bennett the start. However, he started and played the entirety of the season-opener against Clemson, throwing for 135 yards and an interception on 22-of-30 passing. In four games as Georgia’s starter last season, Daniels threw for 1,231 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading the Bulldogs to a 4-0 record and a Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl win over Cincinnati.

In Daniels’ absence, Bennett tied the school-record for touchdown passes in a game with five scores against the Blazers. He completed 10 of 12 passes for a career-high 288 yards. Carson Beck served as the backup, throwing for 88 yards and his first career touchdown pass.
