Georgia basketball’s lone commit for the class of 2022, JT Elder, decommitted Saturday morning.

The news came from Elder’s Instagram account. Elder attributed his change in plans to “recent changes within the program.”

JT Elder’s short history as a Georgia basketball commit

Elder was originally a 2021 recruit and committed to Portland State. He even signed his letter of intent.

After backing out of that commitment , Elder took a post-grad year. Then, he committed to the Bulldogs on October 19th, 2021.

Before that, Elder put up 18 points and 13 rebounds per game for PHH Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.

While the Bulldogs will still look to add players to next year’s roster, Georgia received a commitment from Longwood point guard Justin Hill on Friday.

With a commitment and a decommitment within two days of each other, the Mike White era of Georgia basketball is certainly in a transition period.
