Live Updates: Georgia in Atlanta facing Georgia Tech
Atlanta, Ga – Georgia and Georgia Tech will renew pleasantries and continue the post-Thanksgiving day tradition on Friday in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The No. 4 Bulldogs will face the No. 23-ranked Yellow Jackets in the latest version of Clean Old Fashioned Hate.
The Bulldogs are a 15.5-point favorite over the Yellow Jackets, who enter the game following a loss to Pittsburgh last weekend in Bobby Dodd Stadium. That loss knocked Georgia Tech out of the driver seat to appear in the ACC Championship Game.
Georgia is still awaiting the outcomes of Alabama vs. Auburn and Texas A&M vs Texas this weekend to determine if they will return to Atlanta to play in the SEC Championship Game.
Georgia is focused on Friday’s showdown. The Bulldogs’ head coach Kirby Smart has a lot of respect for Georgia Tech and Brent Key.

“A lot of respect for Brent (Key) and their program,” Smart told reporters on Monday. “He’s done a tremendous job there. They’re extremely physical. You can tell they’re modeled kind of after what he believes in, which is running the ball and stopping the run. Quarterbacks playing at an elite level, just a lot of respect for the way they play the game, and we got a short week. So we got a quick turn here to get ready for these guys and obviously play in Mercedes-Benz on Friday.”
