For the third time on Saturday Mike White and the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team have landed a commitment, this time from North Texas guard transfer Mardrez McBride.

Stadium’s Jeff Goodman was first to report the addition.

Formerly of Augusta, Georgia’s Butler High School, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound McBride joins KyeRon Lindsay and fellow transfer Frank Anselem as new additions to the hoop Dawgs.

McBride tweeted ‘Back home, let’s get it!’

In his two years with the Mean Green, McBride started all 60 games.

During his 2022 campaign, McBride shot 41.7-percent from the field and was almost 39-percent from three point range, making 79 threes over the course of the season.

Over his career with North Texas, McBride averaged 9.6 points per game, made 127 career three-pointers, and 72 career assists.

Prior to his time with North Texas, McBride previously played at USC Salkehatchie and McCook College.

McBride is the sixth transfer into Georgia this offseason under new head coach Mike White. He joins Longwood point guard Justin Hill, Bradley guard Terry Roberts, Alabama forward Jusaun Holt, Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe from Oklahoma State, and the aforementioned Anselem.

Georgia lost nine players to the portal this offseason and had leading scorer Kario Oquendo enter his name before withdrawing it. Oquendo will return alongside Jailyn Ingram, Jabri Abdur-Rahim and Braelen Bridges.
