OT Bo Hughley seizes moment late for Georgia: 'That's Bo'

Georgia redshirt sophomore Bo Hughley played only 15 plays on Saturday in Georgia’s overtime win over Tennessee. He’d played 75 snaps in the first two games of the 2025 season.
Starting right tackle Earnest Greene suffered an injury early in the first half of the season opener. Hughley stepped in and finished that game.
Jahzare Jackson got the call to start game two against Austin Peay. Hughley got some work in that game as well.
Greene returned from injury on Saturday in Knoxville. He gave way to Michael Uini. Most of the right tackle snaps went to Uini, who played 48 snaps.

Hughley stepped in for the last 15 snaps of the game in the fourth quarter in overtime as Georgia won the game with a Josh McCray touchdown.

Hughley was seen after the game in tears during the celebration.
Those were tears of passion from the third-year tackle from Fairburn. Hughley loves football.
“That’s Bo Hughley, in a nutshell,” Hughley’s high school coach, Boone Williams, told DawgsHQ. “I mean, what you saw that passion, everything he does, he does with passion. When he played for me, we had some teary-eyed wins along the way from him. He is just so appreciative of succeeding. When you’ve seen defeat and let down a lot of your life, when you get in those big situations, those monumental situations like that, and you win, he has that passion, that emotion that a lot of people don’t have.”
Bo Hughley’s passion commended by teammates
His teammates have taken notice of his passion. Senior guard Micah Morris had praise for Hughley’s passion.
He’s seen Hughley’s journey. Morris felt the moment was an example of ‘pure’ fire, passion and energy from Hughley.
“You never know when your opportunity is going to come, but you’ve got to be ready,” Morris told reporters on Tuesday. “For Bo, his opportunity came, and he did what he was supposed to do. He did his job, and just all that passion just came out. It’s one of our DNA traits: fire, passion, energy. It just came out, all the work that he put in throughout the week, and the weeks leading up to that moment. Just for him to be able to go out there, Neyland Stadium, packed out, overtime, and be a big contributor to that win, there’s nothing like it. I mean, he was just full of emotion, and it came out. It was pure.”
Georgia has a bye week this week. They will host Alabama on Sept. 27.
