PHOTOS: Georgia arrives in Los Angeles for National Championship
LOS ANGELES — DawgsHQ was on hand to see Georgia arrive at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday as the team got off of its Delta charter plane. The Bulldogs are just days away from taking on TCU for the National Championship at SoFi Stadium (Monday, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) in an attempt to take home their second straight. Here’s are 25 pictures from the team arrival, plus Kirby Smart’s opening comments after landing.
“Alright guys. We’re here. Excited to be here. We had good, safe travels. Blinked your eyes and the flight was over. It wasn’t as long as I thought, so that was a good thing for us,” Smart said. “We met this morning in Athens, jumped on the plane and headed this way as you probably know. They covered the take-off, and we’re here now to get a little work done today and then get ready to go practice tomorrow.”

“We’ll do a little workout. I think it’s important to get on the ground, stretch our legs, so we’ll do a little work and then get a practice in tomorrow as well … We still have a couple days to get prepared. We’ll go through our normal process preparing for a game, which we’ve done 14 times. It’s not different in terms of what we do — it’s just where we’re doing it.”
Georgia takes on TCU in the National Championship Game Monday night at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe on the call. Other broadcasts are available too including the ESPN2 Field Pass with Pat McAfee, the ESPNU Command Center, ESPNews’ At&T Skycast and SEC Network’s broadcast featuring the Georgia Hometown Radio on the call. The Bulldogs opened as nearly two-touchdown favorites over the Horned Frogs, the largest spread for a national title game since the start of the BCS era.
