Happy Fourth of July Folks! We’re officially in our final month of the year without College Football on the schedule while the Georgia Bulldogs get set to suit up between the hedges in just 60 days. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

What’s more American than a College Football Saturday I ask? Not much in my mind, and in the Southeast, that means SEC on CBS.

It’s the final year of the agreement between the conference and its longtime broadcasting partner. The two will go their separate ways at the end of the season. However, with one year left on the deal, we though it would be appropriate to celebrate it’s cultural importance and give our best guess at which Georgia games could end up as the SEC Game of the Week on CBS.

South Carolina (September 16th) / Florida (October 28th): We already know these. The two-time defending champions get the Gamecocks between the hedges to open SEC on CBS’s season. What better way to get the year started than with two teams that ended last year strong.

Then, in October, it’s the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville. CBS has the Masters, a tradition unlike any other according to Jim Nantz, but Georgia fans might be willing to put this rivalry game in Jacksonville up there against that when it comes to traditions. Red and black versus blue and orange as the SEC Game of the Week, sign me up.

Auburn (September 30th): It’s not quite the Georgia-Florida rivalry where it’s slotted in on CBS every year, but Georgia-Auburn, better known as the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, oftentimes gets the Game of the Week treatment.

This will be Georgia’s first road game of the season. Jordan-Hare Stadium can give teams trouble, and for a first time starter at quarterback that’s certainly possible. Add in the fact that there’s a new head coach on The Plains, and it would be easy to see why CBS would want to show the Bulldogs and Tigers going at it.

Ole Miss (November 11th): Ole Miss has an exciting brand of football. Lane Kiffin brings energy that few do in the sport. That has resulted in the Rebels recruiting the transfer portal well and putting up points on the board.

Ole Miss is the only SEC team Kirby Smart has yet to beat as a head coach. That is sure to provide some momentum, as is the fact that it’ll be Senior Day for a class that’s been a part of two National Championships. Needless to say, the excitement is there for this one.

Tennessee (November 18th): This one is a de-facto SEC East Championship. Given that it’s so late in the season, there’s a strong chance that it decides who represents the division – for the final time (!!!!).

Last year the Dawgs and Vols played as the two teams that had claim to the No. 1 ranking in the country. Georgia won and took control of the East. Can they do it again, only this time in the atmosphere that is Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium?
