Georgia’s home atmosphere continues to earn praise nationally. USA Today ranked the top 25 college football stadiums.

Sanford Stadium was ranked as the No. 7 college football stadium ahead of the 2025 season. Authors of the article, Paul Myerberg and Blake Toppmeyer, credit Georgia’s crowd as a major factor in big games in Athens.

“The environment ‘Between the Hedges’ has made the Bulldogs nearly unbeatable at home under coach Kirby Smart,” the article states. “While the literally barking from Georgia fans doesn’t always rattle your eardrums, Sanford Stadium can rumble when challenged.”

LSU’s Tiger Stadium was named the top stadium.

The Bulldogs have been a tough out in front of the home crowd in recent years.

Georgia has not lost a game in Sanford Stadium since Oct. 12, 2019, when the South Carolina Gamecocks knocked off the Bulldogs 20-17 in overtime.

Georgia’s win streak in Sanford Stadium stands at 31 games as they prepare to put that streak on the line in the first two weeks of the season in 2025.

Georgia opens the season next month with Marshall on Aug. 30. Austin Peay will be in town the next week for a non-conference matchup.

Georgia will also host Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Texas, and UNC-Charlotte in Sanford Stadium this season.
